By signing up with The Learning Spot, you have agreed to the following policies listed below


Policy Agreements 

 

FIRST SESSION

The first session is always FREE! The first session consists of a blended assessment that allows us to reach your child at his/her level and work to improve their skills. 

 

REGISTRATION

Registration can be completed at https://thelearningspot.tutorbird.com/Sign-Up  A $50 registration fee is applied to your first invoice. If you miss more than 4 consecutive scheduled sessions, you will receive a re-enrollment fee of $20 on your next invoice. No registration fee is due for our free program!

 

LATE POLICY

No late fee is charged! However, if your child is late for the session they will only be tutored for the remainder of the scheduled session. There will be no prolonged sessions. Additional time will have to be booked for a future session. The session will automatically be canceled after 15 minutes if the student arrives late and you will be billed $15 for the session. Any lost time because of the late arrival of the Tutor shall be compensated for, by extending a lesson by mutual agreement and by such amount of time that was lost. Late policy does not apply to our free program!

 

INVOICES/PAYMENT

Invoices should be paid within 24 hours of the completed session. A late fee of $5 is charged for any invoice that isn’t paid within 48 hours.  After 7days, your account will occur a $35 convenience fee. Students registered for our free program will recieve an invoice with a $0 balance!

 

NO-SHOW POLICY

Students who are not present or who are more than 15 minutes late are considered no-shows. If the student is a no-show, the Parent(s) are still responsible for the $15 charge for the tutoring session.  No discount or refunds shall be given in respect of lessons not attended by the Student. No-show policy does not apply to our free program!

 

CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY PARENT/STUDENT

The Parent/Student may cancel lessons by giving at least 24 hours prior notice to the Tutor in which case no tuition fees will be incurred. Without giving 24 hours prior notice to the Tutor, lessons not attended by the student shall be charged at the full rate of the session. Students registered in our free program are expected to follow the cancellation policy, no charges will be applied. 

 

If sessions are canceled on the part of the parent/student (within the 24-hour policy), a makeup session must be arranged within 7 days. Fees are based upon the Student’s undertaking to attend all lessons as stipulated in their arranged schedule and no discount or refunds shall be given in respect of lessons not attended by the Student.


 CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY TUTOR

The Tutor may cancel lessons by giving 24 hours prior notice to the Parent/Student in which case no fees shall be incurred. Where a lesson was pre-paid, the Tutor shall reschedule the appointment at a time agreeable to both parties, failing which the Parent/Student shall be refunded with such a missed lesson fee. If sessions are canceled on the part of the tutor, a makeup session must be arranged within 7 days.

 

MISSED SESSIONS

Because the nature of the tutoring/mentoring sessions is to improve academic performance it is pertinent that the Student attends regularly and on time.  If there are 3 or more cancellations or no-shows, in any 2-month time frame, the client will be charged a $35 Convenience Fee. Missed sessions policy does not apply to our free program!

 

TERMINATION

This tutoring agreement may be terminated/changed by either party at any time by giving the other party prior written notice.  If TLS (the learning spot) terminates the agreement, a refund may be given based on a pro-rated balance owed (if a balance is owed). You may re-register for tutoring/mentoring by paying the $20 registration fee/ re-enrollment fee. Termination policy does not apply to our free program!

 

REFUND POLICY

Refund requests, including, but not limited to, those made by Parents/ Students who cannot attend or use services will be honored if a 24-hour notice is given.


OBLIGATIONS OF THE STUDENT

  • The Student undertakes to assist the Tutor in identifying problem areas in which the Student needs specific tutoring.
  • The Student agrees to be prepared for every session by having all materials, utensils, homework, etc. ready and available in the designated tutoring location before the Tutor’s arrival.
  • The Student agrees that assignments, exercises, or homework form an integral part of tutoring and undertakes to complete such work timely.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE PARENT/GUARDIAN

  • The parent/guardian undertakes to be responsible for the student’s conduct and character during the tutoring sessions including promptness, respectful behavior, and staying on task.
  • The parent/guardian is responsible for initiating any communication with the tutor.
  • The parent/guardian is responsible for getting the student to the session on time and for picking up the student promptly as soon as the session has ended.
  • The parent/guardian agrees to ensure that the student has completed all work assigned by the tutor within the timeframe given.

 

NO WARRANTIES

While we endeavor to provide the best educational services possible, TLS makes no promises or warranties about a Student’s performance as a result of any tutoring provided. In no event shall our obligations, expressed or implied, to any customer or site user, exceed those obligations specifically noted herein.

WHOLE AGREEMENT

This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties about the subject matter hereof and the parties waive the right to rely on any alleged expressed or implied provision not contained herein. Any alteration to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.
