No child is turned away from our program based on academic ability, and many of our students join our program below grade level and with significant learning challenges. Tutors work with the student’s teachers, parents/guardians, school administrators, and staff to evaluate and address each child’s unique learning needs. Our one-on-one tutoring services comprise an integral component of our college-readiness programming. To position our students for college, even those students with a C average are required to attend tutoring.
In person sessions are available in Virginia Beach, Virginia. All other sessions are available virtually.

One on One Sessions (1hr session) includes Virtual Tutoring $30.00
One-on-one tutoring is ideal for students looking for private sessions with instructors tailored to their strengths and weaknesses. Our tutoring sessions are more than a teacher and a curriculum. It's a robust study system with tutors who are experts in their fields as your guide. The Learning Spot provides exceptional instruction, student mentorship and subject matter expertise in K-12 Grade subjects.

We engage with our students in a friendly and professional manner requesting information about the course, activity, and/or specific content so they can quickly serve the student’s needs. We respond to student questions in a positive, supportive manner, giving as detailed explanations as possible.
Small- Group sessions (1.5 hour session) $35.00
Group tutoring allows students to share strategies for learning while promoting cooperation and understanding. Group sessions provides opportunities for students to share their experiences, learn from one another, build self-confidence, and develop study skills.
Mentoring Sessions (2 hr session) $45.00
A mentor is an older child or adult who can be a role model for your child. At The Learning Spot we will spend quality time with your child, offering support, encouragement, and fun. It has been proven that children who have a mentor tend to do better in school and have higher self-esteem.
High school students
We offer students help with college enrollment, financial aid, and class enrollment. As our students go off to college, The Learning Spot will support our students by providing FREE mentoring services for their 1st year of college.
